Learn how to make a basic pair of socks in this fun class for first-time sock knitters. Important skills include sock fitting, using double pointed needles, turning the heel, and working the gussets and toes. Our Uneek self-striping sock yarn kit will leave you wanting to do “just one more row” as the colors change before your eyes.

This is an advanced beginner class. Students must be able to cast on, knit, purl, increase, decrease, and bind off. Class will be taught using DPN (magic loop or 2 circular needles methods are not appropriate for this class)

Book: Getting Started Knitting Socks Book (must be purchased at LambShoppe)

Yarn: Uneek Self-Striping Sock Yarn Kit, or comparable sock yarn.

Needles: Two sets of DPNs: Size 0-3 as needed to get gauge of 8 stitches per inch

Stitch markers

Tapestry needle

Students must complete a small gauge swatch prior to the first class. Gauge should be 8 stitches to the inch on size 0-3 needles. No need to bring the swatch to class. After gauging, it can be pulled out and rewound into the ball.
